Following is the first screen that appears when you run this program.
There is no other documentation.
This program will convert Family History System files to a Gedcom file.
This program was written by John Steed, author of Brother's Keeper.
If you have a new version of FHS, you can use the FHS program to create
the TRANSFER.GED file. Use this program if you have an old version of FHS.
The Gedcom file produced is in PAF 2.1 format, and may be used to transfer
information into Brother's Keeper when using the BK GEDCOM program. The
Gedcom file produced should also be compatable with other programs which
can input a Gedcom file in PAF 2.1 format.
This version copies all information about the person and marriages and all
links of parent/child and spouse/spouse.
This version (1.1) can handle 10,000 marriages
You will need the person file (FAMILY.NAM) and the marriage/place
file (FAMILY.OTH) on one drive.
If you have trouble with your GEDCOM file transfering to another system,
it could be because FHS allows a person's mother to be male and the father
to be female. This causes havic with most other programs. Check your data
files for that possibility, correct any errors, and create a new GEDCOM file.
